Petly ("the App") helps you track pet vaccinations, treatments, feeding, and reminders. The App is designed to keep your pet records on your device. This policy explains what data the App handles and how.
We operate no servers of our own and receive no personal data from the App. Specifically, the App does not:
The App does, however, include third-party advertising software that collects certain device and advertising data and shares it with advertising partners. This is described in Section 4.
Information you enter — pet profiles, vaccinations, treatments, feeding plans, reminders, notes, and settings — is stored locally on your device only, in the App's private database. This data is not uploaded to us and is not shared with third parties by the App.
The free version of the App shows a banner ad and may offer optional, opt-in rewarded video ads (shown only when you explicitly choose to watch one). Ads can be removed with an optional in-app purchase.
Ads are served through the Appodeal ad mediation platform, which delivers ads from multiple third-party ad networks and demand partners participating in its mediation and ad exchange. The specific networks may vary by region and change between App updates; the list of Appodeal's advertising partners is available via Appodeal's privacy documentation.
To show ads, measure their performance, and prevent fraud, these services collect limited device and advertising data, such as your advertising identifier (e.g. Google Advertising ID), IP address and approximate (coarse) location derived from it, device and network information, ad interaction events, diagnostic and crash data, and whether you have made the in-app purchase.
This data is collected by, and shared with, Appodeal and the third-party advertising networks taking part in its mediation, which act as independent controllers of the data they receive. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies:
We do not send your pet records, reminders, notes, or feeding data to advertising services.
Where required by law (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK), you may be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, and you can decline personalized advertising. You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier and limit ad personalization in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
If you buy the optional ad removal purchase, the purchase is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not receive your payment card details.
The App may send local notifications for pet care reminders. These notifications are generated on your device and do not require sending your pet records to any server.
The App can create an encrypted backup or export file of your data. The file is created on your device and stored only where you choose to save or share it. We have no access to your backup files.
Your pet records stay on your device until you delete them in the App or uninstall the App; uninstalling removes the App's local database. There is no account and no server-side copy on our side, so there is nothing for us to delete on request.
Data collected by the advertising partners listed in Section 4 is retained under their own policies. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads), which breaks the link between you and the advertising data collected before the reset.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The advertising in the App is not treated as child-directed.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
